Okay, maybe this is a slight exaggeration.
But I STILL can't get over "Green Light" by Lorde!
Y'all know how excited I was, and my girl Ella didn't disappoint! I got a dance track with interesting chords, emotional lyricism, impactful vocal quality...she knocked it out of the park.
"With or Without Me" by Sainte...(Happy Belated Birthday!) girl don't get me started. Because while her debut single was "pow-wow-punch-me-in-the-face-alternative", this release was more tame. Soft. But still an edgy and witty way to say "f*ck you!". I'm here for it. Seeing this live would be KILLER.
And, everyone. I've been sleeping on The Dead Deads. If you like hard rock like me, DO NOT MISS "For Your Obliteration"!!! Don't! It's amazing! Everything about the album I love. My favorite thing is how diverse it is. Because who wants an album of the same song? How lame would that be to see that live?
Dudes, I'm not leaving you out either.
The Menzingers left me #shook with After The Party. Had me feeling fear of turning 30 at 19. "Midwestern States", "Charlie's Army", "Your Wild Years", straight jams. Don't get ignorant and sleep on them either. This album is wonderful.
(Teenage Movie Soundtrack by Heyrocco and Morning Report by Arkells came out last year but are new to me!!! Check them out too because WOW!!!)
I am in distress with all of the good music. But also, so happy.
